The Wolf and the Flower —
A Beautiful Sense of Contradiction in Harmony
This piece comes in two colors: blue gray (with a hint of green) and brown.
The palette—unlike anything seen before in “wolf & flower”—has quietly stirred mina perhonen fans.

It’s amazing how different the same piece can feel, just by changing the color.
I chose the green this time, but after seeing posts from other mina fans on Instagram, I can’t help but be tempted by the brown too.

The green has a rich, almost luxurious feel, with the wolves seeming to glow in gold—reminiscent of Christmas colors.
The brown, on the other hand, features wolves in a beautifully subtle green, giving it a more subdued and sophisticated impression. It may be the easier of the two to incorporate into everyday outfits.

Caring for the Wolf’s Coat —
How to Make It Last a Lifetime
When you hold it in your hands, you can feel how soft and warm the fabric is.
Made from fine wool and alpaca, this dress offers exceptional warmth.
It doesn’t feel heavy, and allows for ease of movement.
However, because it is made from soft natural fibers, dealing with pilling is something that cannot be avoided.

The companion I chose for these wolves is a cashmere brush from Shoji Works.
I love Shoji Works brushes and own three of them.
Although this “wolf” dress is primarily made of wool, I deliberately chose their delicate brush designed for cashmere and silk.
This is because of the soft, slightly moist texture of alpaca—and above all, because I didn’t want to damage the raised, precious embroidery.
After wearing it, I gently brush it with a sense of gratitude.
There are no noticeable pills yet, but with time and friction, the texture may slowly change.
And I feel that these changes will become marks of the time spent with this piece—something that deepens my attachment to it.
Where to Go with This Dress —
Imagining the Future with “wolf & flower”
When I slip it on, I find that I look just a little more proud in the mirror.
Perhaps it’s because I’m wearing a story—one that mina perhonen has carefully nurtured over the past 30 years.

As I walk through the city, the poised wolves sway gently in the wind.
Of course, it’s perfect for special occasions,
but it is in the quiet moments of everyday life that I feel drawn to the strength and gentleness this dress holds.

In Closing

“To care for what is well made, and to wear it with love over time.”
The “wolf & flower” I encountered at this 30th anniversary milestone gently reminded me of this simple, yet deeply precious joy.
Five years, ten years from now—
Each time I smooth its surface with a brush, new memories will quietly settle into this dress.
Even the pilling that may one day appear, I hope to welcome as gentle traces of time.
May you, too, find in your closet a piece that quietly straightens your posture the moment you reach for it—something to carry with you for a lifetime.
