Today, I’m introducing the ballade sleeveless dress—a piece that feels like a field of flowers in full bloom. It was pre-released in February 2024 at the “Dear Friend, Department” event at Isetan Shinjuku.

The Isetan event seemed to be a huge success. Many of my “minä friends” even stayed at nearby hotels the night before to head to the venue early in the morning.

It was reportedly even more crowded than during seasonal sales, which truly shows how popular minä perhonen is.

What kind of textile is “ballade”?

This textile was first introduced in the 2007-2008 Autumn/Winter collection.

How popular is “ballade”?

It is immensely popular among minä fans, and items featuring this textile often sell out instantly.

Previously, it was only available in light blue and beige. However, in 2024, a new navy version was introduced, which felt very fresh. The deep navy color, almost close to black, gives off a very calm and sophisticated impression.

New Year’s Special: The Sleeveless Dress

A simple dress with a beautiful straight drop silhouette. It has a shape that makes you want to straighten your posture to welcome the new year.

The neckline has just the right amount of space without being too tight, and the edges are finished in a mustard color—the same color as the flowers—which almost looks like gold.

It’s lovely to wear as a single piece during the spring and summer.

In addition to this dress, the “ballade” collection also included blouses and blousons, each available in beige, light blue, and navy.

The navy, making its first appearance, was incredibly popular. At the event venue, the blouson in navy reportedly sold out instantly. Since navy is a versatile color that works in any season and for any occasion, its popularity is quite understandable! ^^
