A Joyful Find for Mina Fans — The Newly Released wolf & flower Cache-Cœur Dress in Khaki
This time, I’d like to introduce the wolf & flower dress, which was released in advance at the mina perhonen×Christmas event held at Isetan in 2024.
I found the official YouTube video for the mina perhonen×Christmas—feel free to enjoy it if you’d like.
A Closer Look at the wolf & flower Dress
Let’s take a closer look at the textile and color palette of the wolf & flower dress.
Textile: wolf & flower
The wolf & flower textile is a favorite among mina fans, isn’t it?

In the past, wolf & flower dresses were released as part of the 2016–17 A/W collection and as limited items for the “Tsuzuku” exhibition—making this new release a long-awaited piece for many mina fans.
On Harunire, I’ve also introduced other wolf & flower items.
If you’re interested, feel free to take a look.
They haven’t been translated into English just yet, so I hope you’ll kindly wait a little longer.

Available Colors
It comes in two color options.
- Khaki (featured here)
- Gray
I was able to check the colors online before the release, but it was difficult to tell exactly what kind of gray it would be—whether it leaned more toward a cool, bluish tone or a warmer, yellowish one.
In the end, I chose khaki this time.
(As I already knew how competitive online purchases can be, I feel like I ended up choosing the color almost instinctively, without much time to think…)

A Closer Look at the Design of the wolf & flower Dress
It arrived safely, and I opened it with excitement.

The fabric is wool georgette, one of my personal favorites.
From my past purchases—such as the happa skirt—I’ve found it to be easy to handle and relatively resistant to pilling.

The front opening with its partially double-buttoned design gives it a nostalgic charm.

The upper portion is styled like a double-buttoned vest, creating a clean vertical line and a quietly structured feel.

Recently, many mina dresses have featured more relaxed silhouettes, but this one is a bit different.
Since the bust and waist measurements are almost the same, it does make me feel a little conscious of my midsection…
For the size 38 I chose this time, the measurements were as follows:
Bust: 89.4 cm
Waist: 88.3 cm

I tried experimenting with leaving all the front buttons open to wear it like a gilet.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite pull it off this time, but I’d love to try more creative ways of styling it again in the future.
The back collar features a square design accented with piping, adding a subtle yet distinctive touch.
Even in such small details, the quality and careful craftsmanship of the stitching are truly striking.

It also has pockets on both sides 🙂

The skirt is scattered with many little wolves.
Compared to the simpler wolf & flower dress I introduced previously, this one features many more tucks and is designed with a generous amount of fabric.

A Day Out in the wolf & flower Dress
I went out into the autumn and winter streets in the wolf & flower dress.

It also keeps a beautiful shape when sitting.
I was a little concerned that the front might open due to the buttoned design, but thanks to the way it overlaps securely, I can sit without worrying about any gaps.
(The width of the double-button section is fully overlapped.)

The model is 160 cm tall, and even when going up the stairs, the skirt only reveals up to around the upper calf.

The skirt sways gently, creating a lovely silhouette.

Styling the wolf & flower Dress
This time, I paired it with an ivory turtleneck knit and boots.
The overall balance feels just right, creating a look that is both elegant and charming.

My Thoughts on the wolf & flower Dress (Khaki)
One of my favorite points is how easy it is to put on and take off, thanks to the open neckline.
There are plenty of gathers around the waist, so I initially thought it might feel fitted, but it actually has a comfortable amount of room and feels easy to wear.
There’s also enough space around the arms, making it easy to pair with a variety of inner layers 🙂
The lining is securely attached to the hem of the dress, so even when wearing tights, it seems to help prevent static cling.

I’ve put together some styling ideas for different heights!
- For those who are taller:
On me (160 cm), the length falls around the calf, so for taller individuals, I recommend styling it with different tights or socks to change the overall look 🙂 - For those who are shorter:
Since the waistline sits right at the natural waist, pairing it with a shorter-length outerwear helps keep the visual balance from dropping too low, creating a clean and well-proportioned look.

This season, I’ve noticed that mina perhonen has released quite a few shorter-length pieces, such as blousons and short jackets.
For those who enjoy styling mina with mina, I think it would be lovely to keep the look compact with pieces like the rosy short-sleeve down blouson or the sing leaf jacket.
I’ve also put together some styling ideas for different body types!
- Wave:
A slimmer inner layer helps create a well-balanced look.
I’d recommend pairing it with a high-neck top—something that suits this body type particularly well and keeps you warm.
Since the neckline is open, adding a necklace or a scarf can soften the look and prevent it from feeling too bare.
- Straight:
The fabric has a balanced texture—neither too soft nor too structured—which seems well-suited to this body type.
By taking advantage of the open neckline and pairing it with a clean, uncluttered inner layer, you can create a well-defined and elegant silhouette.
- Natural:
Pairing it with a long coat or long boots creates a cool, effortless look.
I also recommend adding bold accessories to bring a focal point to the outfit.
Although the design has some room, it still feels clean and streamlined, so wearing a knit over it and styling it like a skirt could work beautifully for this body type as well 🙂
(For reference, the model is a Wave × Natural mix!)
